Riding Wistful Horses

Riding Wistful Horses
by Alastair Adamson

Sitting here and thinking how
My life much richer is now
For all the ones I've chanced upon
And the tapestry that was spun

There was a time when no one came
No friends to play in childhood game
No one to shelter from the rain
Nor the adolescent pain

Yet in my inner heart I knew
Secrets rare and secrets true
Were wishes horses, all would ride
Other dreamers by my side

Then one day I dropped my guard
I never did something so hard
In my heart I let others in
And found I had a friend

By one's and two's they gathered near
Soothing all my darkest fears
A tapestry we began to weave
And I once more believe

For youth need never fade away
As long as I can dream and play
On wistful horses I will ride
With other dreamers at my side

Growth

What is Development?

The very first word that blow past my mind when I hear the word Development is, GROWTH.
In growth, one would surpass different changes and encounter a variety of events.
Growing is enabling oneself to evolve.

Therefore, Development is a process of growth for me.
Development may be the progress of one's ability, the improvements of non-living things or anything that rises to produce an effect or the metamorphosis of your life.

Of all the eight Millennium Development Goals, the goal that I understood more or was aware of was the fourth goal which was, Reduce Child Mortality.
No one deserves to die, agree?
What more with children? Or infants perhaps?
Through this MDG, millions of children will be saved from hunger and illness.
Defining development through reducing child mortality perhaps would be the creation of alternative medicines (eg. Herbal) that will help sustain the life of an ill child. Development programs and seminars to help the parents or guardians to be aware on how to live a healthy life and what to avoid will increase the awareness of people in the community.
To be able to inform people of such tragedies will help our country, the world.
